Picnic & Poetry

Saturday we met up some friends at Lakeview Cemetery for a picnic and poetry reading. It was a beautiful day in the shade for it despite being dressed a little on the heavy side for a 80 degree day.

Crystal does a lovely reading of Annabell Lee by Edgar Allen Poe for us during the picnic.

Cincinnati Trip

Tuesday & Wednesday we went down to Cincinnati to see my family. We met my parents at their restaurant of choice, Golden Corral. I'm not a big fan of buffets in the first place as we went to them too often when I was a kid. Their "bland but a lot" motto gets old fast. This time was no exception and it seems like Crystal got an unexpected side of food poisoning to top things off.

Outside of the poisonous lunch, we did have some fun too. I got to take Crystal to Jungle Jim's for the first time. I always thought it would be cool to live by it, there just seems to be so many different things to try. Since we still had a whole day to drive around we didn't get much but Crystal did find a brand of loose tea that she was about to order on the internet.


We also went to the new IKEA down there and Crystal got to pick up this Octopus hanger she had been wanting.


We think might be getting a new couch from there so if anyone knows someone in need, let me know.

Lakeview Cemetary

Saturday we went to Lakeview Cemetary with our friends Chuck & Heather. We checked out Garfield's tomb & walked around a bit. It was a gorgeous day. I was able to take a couple pictures of Crystal that I think turned out nice.



I liked both of these and can't pick just one to post.



I think the flare and Crystal's fingers make this picture kinda interesting.


Overall it was kind of a crazy day. Afterward, we went around shopping which we never do with other people. Then we ran into our friends Kim & Pat at the mall and despite us being out all the time we never see people we know. Finally, when we went to get dinner (at Fat Head's on Lorain, it was really good it you are ever in the area) and I saw some crappy old coworkers from CBIZ.

Tinkers Creek Park

Friday we explored some trails at Tinkers Creek Park. It was pretty neat and we got to take a lot of great nature shots.

This one is my favorite. It is a molting dragonfly. Right after I took the picture, it flew away with the husk still attached to it's tail. You must click on the picture to view the large version to really appreciate it.


I liked the composition of this one, especially how Crystal is slightly out of focus in the distance.


Finally, let's play Where's Snakey? He is so well hidden it took me a minute to figure out why I took the picture. When I asked Crystal to find it I had to point it out to her eventually but she doesn't have very good critter vision anyways.
