Corn Maze

We actually got to go to a proper corn maze! It was not all that hard but was still pretty fun. I'd still like to try a more labyrinthine maze one day but this one will do for now.

Here is an aerial shot of the maze. The theme was Frankie Stein.

Inside the maze were seven pumpkin signs to find and we found all of them!

Cleveland Museum of Natural History

As I mentioned last time, we went to the Natural History Museum last Sunday. Outside of the super crowded free days University Circle has some times, I don't think I've ever been here before. Having time to really check it out I enjoyed it a lot. I was surprised to find they have a permanent exhibit of 8 different types of Ohio animals outside the museum. There was tons of neat stuff to take pictures of like...

Headlands Beach

Crystal and I went to Headlands Beach this Wednesday. I haven't been there for a really long time and I forgot what a nice beach it is. We got there pretty early in the day and hardly anyone was there yet.

Cleveland Zoo

After a bit of a let down with the Columbus Zoo, I had been really wanting to check out the Cleveland Zoo again. When we woke up Wednesday it looked like it was the start of a beautiful day so we decided to jump on the chance to go. We arrived a little after the park was opening and it was packed. There was a slow moving line of cars just to get to the parking lot! It was a great time and I got to take a bunch of pictures of some of my favorite animals.

And my favorite, the Tortoise.

I also got a great video but I have to wait to post it until I get a hold of the right music.

Woolfest @ the Farmpark

Saturday, Crystal and I decided to check out the Lake Metro Farmpark. It's another thing that I have just never heard of despite all the years I have been in Cleveland. This weekend happened to be Woolfest at the Farmpark, so there was a little bit more going on than usual. There was shearing demos, vendors & you could pick up a pound of wool for $1. Amazing! It was a stunning day and it was fun to go around but I definitely think the Farmpark is a go once and your good kind of place.

I was able to get a couple in your face animal shots. Some are better than others but I think they are all pretty fun.

Arkon Art Museum & Kendall Lake

Recently Crystal and I decided to try to make sure we have at least one day a week set aside for going out and doing something. It is just too easy to get caught up in other stuff and then the week is past and we've done nothing of note. So this is my solution to that, I like to call them Culture Days.
Our first Culture Day involved going to the Kent Fashion Museum, but no pictures were allowed and the building was ugly so there was nothing to post. Today turned out a bit better.

We started our day off by going to the Akron Art Museum.
Akron Art & Kendal Lake
It was nice but small and a bit overpriced. That seems to be the theme for Akron. We had previously went to the Akron Zoo and it too was small and a bit overprice.

On the way back we decided to check out Peninsula. The town didn't really seem to have anything to interest us so we drove around until we happened upon Kendall Lake.
Akron Art & Kendal Lake
Apparently, it is a man-made lake and currently under construction so it was not so much of a lake as a big muddy pit.

It was still a very lovely spot. We explored the area a bit and took some becoming shots of each other. It could not have been a better day to be out having fun.
